Dessa Nguyen
Dessa is an associate with a developing practice in complex commercial and civil litigation. She assists clients and senior counsel with a wide variety of matters including contractual issues, land disputes, professional liability, Aboriginal rights claims, and fraud. Throughout her time as a law student at the University of Victoria, Dessa volunteered at the Legal Information Clinic, was president of the International Human Rights Law Association, and provided research assistance to several professors in the areas of civil procedure, health law, and discrimination issues. Prior to joining Wilson Laycraft, Dessa worked at a large regional firm, a national business law firm, and articled at a major international firm. She has been a participant in both the Civil Claims Duty Counsel project and the Queen’s Bench Amicus program, providing free legal advice and assisting self-represented litigants before the Court. A born and raised Calgarian, Dessa enjoys engaging in all types of sports and fitness, cooking, and spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs.
